This poster up for auction is from the New Orleans Pop Festival of 1969. A two-day affair (August 31, September 1) featuring the Byrds, the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, Dr. John, and Tyrannosaurus Rex, just to skim off the top. Throw in a custom bike show and a heavy fireworks show, with free camping for all at the Louisiana International Speedway and you've got yourself a Pop Festival! The artwork is by Saint Germain. The New Orleans Pop Festival took place just over two weeks after Woodstock, for contextual reference. This New Orleans Pop Festival poster measures 17 3/8" x 22 5/8" and is in Very Good condition, with restoration to repair tears and tack holes. Also has handling throughout, edge wear, and damage in the lower left corner, resulting in paper loss.
