AUCTION - AOR 2.50 - BG-53 - Uncut Progressive Proof - 1967 Poster & Cards - Fillmore Auditorium - 1967 Poster- Near Mint Minus

What a unique and cool piece we have here. This is an uncut progressive proof For BG–53 in the Bill Graham Series. The show itself featured Otis Rush, the Mothers, and Morning Glory, playing at the Fillmore on March 3-5, 1967. The artwork is by Wes Wilson, whose masterful use of a beautifully elegant split fountain to frame a powerful take on youth and old age really shines. Intense and very psychedelic. This uncut progressive proof of BG–53 is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 146, plate 2.50, and consists of the show, the poster itself, and three postcards with postcard printing on the reverse, all without the actual show information. This allows Wes Wilson's artistic prowess to stand on its own. That's what makes this piece so special. The poster measures 19 1/8" x 25", approximately. This uncut progressive proof is in Near Mint Minus condition, with a large corner bend in the lower left corner, along with a corner tip bend in the same corner and a very small bit of handling.
