AUCTION - Family Dog Benefit - Jerry Garcia - Fillmore West - 1969 Handbill - Excellent

This ultra-rare handbill is for a benefit show held at the Fillmore West in San Francisco, California. The beneficiary was the Family Dog. Held on an off night (Wednesday) in a Bill Graham venue, the show featured the Steve Miller Band, Humble, Mumble, Fumble and Dumble (Big Brother without Janis Joplin), Barry Maguire, and the New Riders of the Purple Sage with Jerry Garcia! Super strong lineup to help a then struggling Family Dog, who were putting on shows at the Great Highway at this point. "Give the Dog a Helping Bone", it says at the bottom. The show day was November 19, 1969. This benefit handbill measures 8 1/2" x 11" and it is the only one we have ever seen in over 32 years. The condition is excellent, with toning on the edges. Never put up.
