AUCTION - Big Brother Janis Joplin - 1967 Handbill - Straight Theater - Excellent

Here is an original concert handbill from the Straight Theater in San Francisco on Haight Street. The bands are Big Brother and the Holding Company featuring Janis Joplin, South Side Sound System, Freedom Highway, Colours, and Phoenix. Crazy medical ads were added for comic effect. Note at the top center about spines, it says J. Joplin, Nurse. Also, take a look at the Mennnen's talcum powder ad at the left. That is a picture of Janis Joplin as a young child! Pretty wild. The show dates were September 1-3, 1967. The handbill measures approximately 8 1/2" x 11". The condition is Excellent, with a single pinhole near the top center, a horizontal fold across the middle, a small edge tear near the bottom right and a couple of light stains. Presents quite well.
